Showcase Events – FFC
This fun competition event will be held in conjunction with the 2023 United States National Firefighter Challenge Championship event being held in Hoover, Alabama at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium (September 6-9). Our special one-day Alabama Fire Service event will be held on Tuesday September 5th at 10:00AM, with two category offerings: Tandems and Relays!
This event is free and open to any Alabama firefighter and/or fire department! Competitors will vie for Alabama bragging rights only NOTE: competitors who are competing in the actual U.S. National competition event does so by 'invitation only', meaning they have met certain criteria to qualify. Participating in the Alabama Fire Service event does not make one eligible to compete at U.S. Nationals.
Tuesday (September 5th):
- 3:00PM - Open Practice
- NOTE: this day will also offer the special Alabama Fire Service Showdown competition.
- Time/Activities: 10am
- Two Options - Tandem (2 people) or Relay (4 people)
- # of Athletes @ 50 to 150 and free to attendees
Wednesday (September 6th):
-7:00AM - Open Practice
-8:30AM - Wildcard Qualifying Rounds for the Individual Category
-6:00PM - Evening outing, dinner & welcome reception at Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum
Thursday (September 7th):
-7:00AM - Open Practice
-8:00AM - Wildcard Qualifying Rounds for the Individual Category
-12:30PM - Relay Seeding followed by the U.S. National Tandem Category Championship Event
-Open Night
Friday (September 8th):
-7:30AM - Open Practice
-9:00AM - U.S. National Relay Category Championship Event
followed by the optional 'Best of the Best' single evolution challenge event.
Special Outing at Brock's Gap Brewing Company
Saturday (September 9th):
-7:30AM - Open Practice
-9:00AM to Noon - U.S. National Individual Category Championship Event
-Awards After Party & Presentations (immediately following event onsite at Finley Center).
