In a Games filled with powerful moments, few stories hit the heart quite like that of Ludwig Boju, a firefighter from Paris and amateur boxer competing in the 2025 World Police & Fire Games.
Ludwig isn’t just stepping into the ring for a medal—he’s stepping in for his 10-year-old son, Louyan, who has been battling leukemia since the age of four. Ludwig, who already won gold at the 2023 Games, is back in the ring tonight with renewed purpose: to honor the strength, resilience, and spirit of his son.
When Louyan’s cancer returned, Ludwig felt helpless in the face of his son’s suffering. So he turned to the one thing he knew—boxing. During hospital stays, young Louyan would join his father at the gym, hitting the weight bag to work through his own pain. That time together became a symbol of their shared fight—one in the ring, and one for life.
Alongside Louyan’s mother, Alice, Ludwig co-founded Le Regard de Louyan, a French organization dedicated to raising awareness for pediatric cancer and supporting families through creative and joyful events. Their mission: to offer hope, happiness, and relief in the darkest of times.
Tonight, Ludwig competes at the Alabama Theatre at 5 PM, and he won’t be alone. His son, his family, and a global community of first responders will be in his corner.
Come stand with them.
The event is free and open to the public, and we invite you to witness not just a match—but a moment that captures the true spirit of the Games: courage, service, and heart.
