Competition Format

Round Robin followed by tournament.

A PLAYER MAY COMPETE ON ONLY ONE (1) TEAM AND IN ONLY ONE (1) DIVISION.

REQUIREMENTS: Each team shall start the tournament with a minimum of 5 players and a maximum of 12 players. Each team is permitted one (1) Non-Playing Coach. Each team must start every game with four (4) players plus a goalkeeper on the field. During a game, if a team is reduced by injuries and player ejections, and there are only 3 competitors left, they may continue in the game with a minimum of 3 players.

The competition will allow for ‘rolling substitutes’ to be used and this will be unlimited with the exceptions of the goal keepers where only 1 substitution may be made in each half. If the goalkeeper who has come on as a substitute becomes injured and is unable to continue in the game, then he can be replaced.

Duration of Game: The game shall consist of two 20-minutes halves with a 5-minute break between the halves.

See map below for directions to the BJCC Exhibition Halls from Athletes' Village in Downtown Birmingham.

1. Can I register for more than one sport?
Where possible, you are welcome to compete in as many sports as you like. However, please keep in mind some sports may be scheduled to take place at the same time. We do not recommend registering for sports with overlapping schedules. Register for your primary sports and disciplines, then once the final schedule is released in May, you can register for additional sports as the schedule allows.

2. Will there be boards to enclose the playing area?
Yes.

3.  Can I combine with other agencies to form a team?
Competitors from police and fire agencies may combine to form Doubles and/or Teams, regardless of agency size or service WITHIN A COUNTRY. Retired competitors may combine to form Doubles or Teams in any manner they wish with other eligible competitors whether Police or Fire. This includes across country lines or whether any other member of the Doubles or Team is actively employed or retired.

This sport is not sanctioned with a national or international entity. It is only governed by the WPFGF.
