Intern with the World Police & Fire Games

The 2025 World Police & Fire Games are in Birmingham, Alabama from June 27, 2025 to July 6, 2025. The event is an Olympic-style competition with thousands of athletes representing First Responders from different countries across the world and features more than 8,500 athletes from 70+ countries, 60+ sports and 1,600+ medal events at 45 different venues.

WPFG is seeking several interns for the Spring 2025 Semester (January - May 2025) and for the Summer 2025 Semester (June - July 2025). ALL Spring 2025 Interns that excel in their role are invited to continue through the Summer 2025 Semester, through July 2025, and through the event (which is in-person). ALL POSITIONS ARE PAID POSITIONS WITH A MONTHLY STIPEND.

Internships Available

The 2025 World Police & Fire Games is seeking students or recent graduates willing to work 20-hours per week (hybrid or remote) in the Operations Department as Games Delivery Interns.  

    • Candidate Basics - The candidate is someone who understands the spirit of collaboration and cooperation. This person has mastered attention to detail, critical thinking, organization, personal responsibility, professionalism, and time management. The candidate should have experience with active problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. A member of this team is a strong communicator, has a positive attitude, is a team player, and has a strong sense of ethics and moral responsibility. 
    • Requirements - The candidate must have a desire to work in sports, special events, operations or a similar field. Basic computer skills with the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the Google Suite are a must. You must also be willing to stand or work on your feet inside/outside during a variety of different weather conditions for long periods of time.
    • Responsibilities - Daily activities include creating and completing lists via Excel, verifying information, assisting with budgeting, researching asset procurement, researching possible vendors, and warehouse logistic setup and management. 
    • Paid or Credit - The candidates selected receive a monthly stipend. Students interested in receiving college credit must submit the paperwork from their colleges at the start of their internship. All candidates are paid regardless of if they wish to earn credit.

This person has mastered cultural awareness, organization, personal responsibility, professionalism, and time management. The candidate should have experience with active problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. A member of this team is a strong communicator, has a positive attitude, and is a team player. 
  • Requirements - Social media native and avid user with experience in Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Experience in Adobe design software, Wordpress website builder, and photo/video editing is a plus. Ability to utilize Canva to create brand-specific content. 
  • Responsibilities - Daily activities include creating contention for social media platforms, editing photos and videos, and curating content for the website. 
  • Paid or Credit - The candidate selected receives a monthly stipend. Students interested in receiving college credit must submit the paperwork from their colleges at the start of their internship. All candidates are paid regardless of if they wish to earn credit.

  • Requirements - The ideal candidate has experience with writing press materials and in communicating with the media. The candidate has experience in market research, building media lists, and experience in Google Analytics. 
  • Responsibilities - Daily activities include creation of press materials and development of media lists. The intern is responsible for managing the media clippings, and coordinating analytics reports.

  • Responsibilities - Daily activities include assisting with graphic design requests, including promotional materials, event materials, etc. 
  • Paid or Credit - The candidate selected receives a monthly stipend. Students interested in receiving college credit must submit the paperwork from their colleges at the start of their internship. All candidates are paid regardless of if they wish to earn credit.

  • Requirements - The ideal candidate is a strong communicator via public speaking, phone calls and via emails. An intern with the ability to speak in multiple languages is a plus. A candidate with existing relationships with first responders is preferred. 
  • Responsibilities - Daily responsibilities include transferring information from emails to a database, engaging with athletes, and research projects.

  • Requirements - The ideal candidate is personable and has a customer service focus. Prior experience in sales or sponsorship is preferred. Candidates must have skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Responsibilities - Daily responsibilities include researching potential sponsors, sending sales-focused emails and making sales-based calls. This position has the potential to do entry-level sponsorship and expo sales.
