Competition Format

Round Robin (Group Play) followed by a Single Elimination tournament within each age class.  Bracketing may be modified, depending on the number of teams entered and venues available, to allow teams to play the maximum number of games possible.  The Host and the WPFGF must agree on the bracketing changes at or before the Bracketing Meeting.

See map below for directions to Heardmont Park from Athletes' Village in Downtown Birmingham.

1. Can I register for more than one sport?
Where possible, you are welcome to compete in as many sports as you like. However, please keep in mind some sports may overlap in schedule. We DO NOT recommend registering for sports with overlapping schedules. Register for your primary sports and disciplines, then once the final schedule is released in May, you can register for additional sports as the schedule allows.

2. How many substitutions are allowed?
There are unlimited rolling substitutions allowed during the Games.

3.  Can I combine with other agencies to form a team?

Retired competitors may combine to form Doubles or Teams in any manner they wish with other eligible competitors whether Police or Fire. This includes across country lines or whether any other member of the Doubles or Team is actively employed or retired.

This sport is not sanctioned with a national or international entity. It is only governed by the WPFGF.
