Competition Format

Men’s “A” & “B” Division

    • Round Robin Play:
      • All competitors enter (use seeding from past years). Players will be assigned to groups. Each player in a group will compete against every other player in his group. The size of the groups is determined by the number of teams in the tournament.
    • Round Robin Single Elimination:
      • Use results of group play to rank each player/team from first to last. If the group has an even number of competitors, divide the ranking in half. If the group has an odd number of players/team, divide the ranking so the top half has one less player/team than the bottom half. The top half of each group will be Division “A”, and the bottom half will be Division “B”. “A” and “B” Division teams will then be placed into groups (group size will be determined by the number of plays/teams). The “A” and “B” Divisions each play a separate Single Elimination tournament, with each Match best three out of five legs.

Women’s Open Division

    • Women’s Individual and Doubles will start with a preliminary Round Robin (Group Play), followed by a Single Elimination tournament, with each Match best 2-out-of-3 legs. There will not be an “A” or “B” Division for the women events.

EQUIPMENT: Darts used in the tournament MUST comply with WDF requirements. Competitors are responsible for providing their own darts.

See map below for directions to the BJCC Exhibition Halls from Athletes' Village in Downtown Birmingham.

1. Can I register for more than one sport?
Where possible, you are welcome to compete in as many sports as you like. However, please keep in mind some sports may overlap in schedule. We DO NOT recommend registering for sports with overlapping schedules. Register for your primary sports and disciplines, then once the final schedule is released in May, you can register for additional sports as the schedule allows.

2.  Can I combine with other agencies to form a team?
Competitors from police and fire agencies may combine to form Doubles and/or Teams, regardless of agency size or service WITHIN A COUNTRY. Retired competitors may combine to form Doubles or Teams in any manner they wish with other eligible competitors whether Police or Fire. This includes across country lines or whether any other member of the Doubles or Team is actively employed or retired.

This sport is not sanctioned with a national or international entity. It is only governed by the WPFGF.
