Begin the Birmingham 2025 World Police & Fire Games by being part of a celebration of international police & fire athletes! Immerse yourself in the cherished traditions of the Parade of Athletes, the Raising of the Flag, & the Lighting of the Cauldron. Experience a vibrant display of locally inspired programming. After the ceremony, all credentialed athletes, along with their family & friends, are invited to continue the festivities at the grand opening of Athletes Village. It is a short walk from Legacy Arena & will open at the conclusion of the Opening Ceremony.

- 17:00 - Parade Begins towards Opening / Legacy Arena

PARADE OF ATHLETES
Demonstrate your pride by marching into an arena of cheering fans, friends & family! Credentialed athletes & team coaches are encouraged to participate. Parade Marshaling Area will be in the BJCC North Halls. Athletes will need to go through a magnetometer & once inside you will move from the BJCC to enter into Legacy Arena. Parade marshaling area will open at 2:00 P.M.. Concessions and games will be available. All participants must report to the designated Parade Marshaling Area no later than 16:30 to participate. All friends & families will be asked to head to their seats at 15:45.

For all spectators - there is a CLEAR BAG policy at the Arena that must be followed. Parading Athletes ONLY are allowed to use the Athletes Bag given at Registration. All will enter through security screening.

Join us for a solemn Memorial Service dedicated to honoring the heroes we have lost. This special event will pay tribute to the bravery & sacrifice of police & fire personnel who have given their lives in the line of duty. The film focuses on first responders from law enforcement, fire, EMS, and dispatch agencies who are struggling to keep their jobs, their sanity, health and even personal relationships after traumatic incidents. PTSD911 follows the progress of a veteran police officer who reaches out for help but is ostracized by fellow officers and by her police department leaders. The officer provides full access to her life and has invited the filmmakers to follow her as she attends a five day retreat for first responders. The traumas this officer and first responders like her see and experience goes home with them at the end of the shift impacting their families and relationships as well. Many cannot shake the sights, sounds, and smells from their memory and to cope often turn to self-destructive habits and increasingly, sadly, suicide.

The evening will feature the ceremonial Passing of the Flag to the next host city, Perth 2027. Engage in the camaraderie of pin, patch, & challenge coin trading as we commemorate the incredible memories made in Birmingham. Enjoy local entertainment, a recap video highlighting the best moments of the Games, & a final celebration.
